Teresa Hudson

Program Director



Teresa Hudson was appointed Ignite Professional Studies Program Director in 2015. Under her leadership, the program has grown to include eight career strands: Construction Management, Culinary Arts, Digital Design and Photography, Education Innovation, Global Business, Health Sciences, Technology, and Video Production. She works closely with Northwest Arkansas Community College to provide college credit for students enrolled in the program. Teresa has cultivated partnerships with local businesses that provide real, relevant, professional opportunities for program participants including student internships.


Prior to Ignite, Teresa served as the District Career and Technical Coordinator for Bentonville Schools, where she supervised 11 career-technical specializations. During her tenure, she wrote and managed federally and state-funded grants for the Career and Technical Programs. She also implemented new programs of study in computer science, providing students the opportunities to earn professional certifications.


As Virtual Learning Academy Coordinator with Union Public Schools in Tulsa, Teresa developed innovative educational programs including a virtual blended learning program for Union High School, enrolling 850 students in 1,200 courses in its first two years. The program was recognized by President Barack Obama in 2013 and served as the model for other school districts across the country.


Teresa spent more than 25 years in Oklahoma teaching business, marketing and technology courses. She was highly involved in the career and technical education system serving in professional organizations, National ACTE, OkACTE, ArACTE and International Society of Technology Educators, as well as sponsoring student organizations, including Future Business Leaders of America, Business Professionals of America and DECA. She traveled the country, allowing her students to compete at a national level. She has also spoken about virtual education across the state serving as an adviser on the need for virtual education opportunities.
