• A Note From The Principal

Washington Jr. High School is an amazing place and I am extremely proud and feel very blessed to be the Principal of Washington Jr. High School.

At WJHS, we strive to make a positive impact on student’s lives beyond test scores.  We work to create a school where students feel a sense of belonging and connection.

Our main goal is to create Wildcats that are:

    • Welcoming
    • Involved
    • Leading
    • Dependable
    • Cooperative
    • Ambitious
    • Teachable
    • Serving

That being said, our record of student achievement is continues to be exemplary.  We believe that this is a natural outcome of our number one instructional goal which is to create "meaningful" learning experiences for students with ‘above the line’ thinking and real world applications.

To us, meaningful learning experiences are clearly relevant to students and will live on well past the next exam. Our teachers aspire to regularly have students solve real problems, to create actual products, for an authentic audience.

Our staff works within a professional learning community mindset to live up to our core values of collaboration, ongoing learning, building positive relationships, and having high expectations for all students.

If you are new to our community, we are confident that you will come to love our school.  Most of our staff members are or have been parents of school-aged children and we understand the trust that you place in us and the responsibility that accompanies that trust.

If you have any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact us.  We are here to serve you and your child.

    Go Wildcats!

    Sincerely,

    Tim Sparacino, Principal
    Washington Jr. High School
