History of Old High Middle School
Founded in 1928, Old High Middle School originally housed all of Bentonville Schools. Students started on one side of the building and graduated once they reached the end of the hallway. Old High soon branched into R.E. Baker and eventually, a new high school (now Lincoln Junior High School). Currently, Bentonville Schools is comprised of 21 schools and some 17,000 students yet Old High remains the foundation from where it all began.
Old High Middle School is a leader in innovation and serves as a community hub. This can been seen through several awards from being named a Blue Ribbon School and a Diamond School to Watch to our innovative programs including PE4Life, student driven clubs and Makers’ Space in partnership with the Amazeum. Such innovation allows us to seek and maximize the talents of not just our students and teachers but also the community. We’re driven by the belief that Old High provides a safe place to explore, to be different and to be better.
