Class Rank
October 21, 2025 the Bentonville Schools Board of Trustees voted to eliminate class rank on transcripts effective immediately. Information included in the school board discussion is listed below.

Class rank will no longer be included on an academic transcript.

No valedictorian or salutatorian will be named.

A student applying for a scholarship or award that requires class rank can petition the District Registrar for release of that information directly to the awarding organization. The student will be required to show proof of application, proof of meeting all other criteria, and proof that the rank is required. The confidential notice will be forwarded directly to the awarding organization.

An unweighted Grade Point Average (GPA) and a weighted GPA will be posted on every transcript and calculated as prescribed by the Arkansas Department of Education Division of Elementary and Secondary Education.

Students in the Top Ten of the Class of 2026 will receive official documentation of their ranking at the time the system is discontinued. In addition to the Top Ten, this commemorative letter can be requested by any student for their files.

Students with significant ranking at the time the system is discontinued can have that referenced on letters of recommendation and applications.

Other final commemoration of these rankings will be determined at the campus level.
