•  Ignite Education Innovation is an intensive, real, relevant, discovery based introduction to education. This happens through project based learning, guest speakers, trips to education related organizations and projects with school and community partners. Students shadow a variety of professonals and complete a 10 week internship. Students not only observe great teaching but create and teach lessons of their own. Students explore education trends and news, experiment with technology features and use research-based teaching strategies. They develop the professional skills and vocabulary necessary to attend college, apply and interview for a job, and collaborate with others in the workplace. Students complete the course with a philosophy of education, resume, interview experience and professional portfolio documenting their experience. They have the opportunity to earn up to 12 college credit hours and earn a Parapro certificate that could lead to employment after high school.
