Charity Cup is here! As most of you know, Charity Cup is our annual week-long (Oct 24th-31st) competition with Fulbright and Lincoln to see who can earn more points by performing service hours, donating food items, and raising money.
We are asking for individually wrapped items to support our school's Snackpack program that sends food home over the weekend with students who are food insecure. Any food donated is greatly appreciated but individually wrapped items like granola bars, peanut butter or cheese crackers, beef sticks, individual cereal/oatmeal, applesauce, and fruit cups are in high demand.
This year the money we raise is going towards Make-A-Wish. Please use the Make-A-Wish Donation Link if you would like to donate directly to Make-A-Wish, or share the link with your friends/family. While we are only able to count donations given during the week of Charity Cup towards our competition points, we would welcome donations at any time as we are trying to grant a wish of a local NWA child this school year. Please use your child's name instead of donating anonymously so we can be sure to keep track of points for competition purposes.
In addition to activities going on throughout the week at school, we will also be setting up donation tables at both Sam's Club and the Neighborhood Market in front of WJHS. If you son/daughter has an hour or two to spare on Saturday, the 26th from 9-3, we would love student participation at those tables. There will be at least two staff members present as well, but it is a great way for student to get some service hours and help in a direct manner.
You can also support our cause while eating out. We have a Spirit Night at Chipotle on Saturday from 4-8. If you mention you are there for WJHS they will give us a generous percentage of sales. Additionally, Newks is doing the same on Tuesday the 29th from 4-close.
