Family Engagement Events/Activities

Excellent Beginnings provides meaningful experiences for children and families that are reflective and respectful of family traditions of all children in the classroom.  Parent Engagement is a key part of your child’s successful educational experience.  There will be multiple opportunities for Parent Engagement, both during the day and in the evening to accommodate the majority of families.  Parents are invited to all events and are welcome in the center at any time.  Information will be sent home as these events occur, and you may also consult the Calendar of Events to prepare for the year. Children thrive on routine and events can be disruptive to children; therefore, staff work to make any event as low key as possible.  In order to respect the values and beliefs of all families, classroom staff will not plan or hold holiday parties and activities that promote any specific holiday or religion.  Families may not bring outside food to the center.  Foods served at special events will be healthy and nutritious. Excellent Beginnings does not have birthday celebrations.  Balloons are not allowed at the center as they pose a choking hazard.  In addition, parents are welcome to volunteer in the classroom, and share a special skill you may have or share information about your job. In addition, if you have a community resource contact that could share information, we would very much appreciate your input as we work together to add special activities to the lesson plan. We are always looking for opportunities to learn!
