College Classes/ Concurrent Credit
Concurrent Credit
Students can enroll in college classes during high school for credit on the college transcript and the high school transcript. Details are updated in the Course Catalog published in January each year. Information sessions are offered during Parent University in January.
Concurrent credit options include academic credit that transfers to four-year schools and technical credit that may lead to a Certificate of Proficiency or Technical Permit for specialized employment. Our partner colleges include NWACC, NWTI, A-State, UAPTC, Texarkana, and more. In an effort to serve all of your needs, we use a variety of partner colleges for different types of programs.
New State Changes
Arkansas Act 340 of 2025 includes changes to concurrent credit expenses, funding, scholarships, and weighted credit.

Please pay any old outstanding fees you have with NWACC for Spring 2025, Fall 2024, etc.

Please do not purchase books from the NWACC bookstore. Books will be provided by the school district.

Please do not pay for Fall 2025 classes.

The school district will distribute college books as soon as possible. The order is in progress with the NWACC bookstore.

The Arkansas Access to Acceleration (A2A) scholarship is automatically awarded by the college and no application is necessary.

Each high school will have college orientation sessions August 12-15 in the period you would usually have your college class.

Concurrent Credit is a Bentonville Schools approved course taken on our high school schedule for credit on both the high school and college transcripts and will include school district funding of fees and books.

Dual Credit is course taken outside of the high school schedule for credit on the college transcript only and it does not qualify for school district funding of fees and books. After taking the course, the credit could be submitted for possible inclusion on the high school transcript if it meets a necessary credit for graduation.

NWACC and NWTI classes begin August 18.
Early College Experience
Students can choose to complete a full associate degree during high school. An academic associate's degree is about 60 college credit hours or the first two years of a four year bachelor's degree. This ECE experience can help you save $40,000 or more on the first two years of college.
