Cool off with Kona Ice and a good book tonight at TJ!

Have a wonderful summer, Tigers! We'll see you back for the first day of school next year on August 12!

We've got a NEW book bus that will be rolling through Bentonville this summer! Join us for a kickoff right here at TJ on Wednesday evening!

There will be no school on Monday in observance of Memorial Day. Have a wonderful and safe weekend, Tigers!

These ladies teach our oldest tigers and prepare them for middle school. Thank you to Ms. Butcher, Ms. Price, Mrs. Fanning, and Mrs. Yount!

Thanks to these lovely ladies who teach our littlest tigers each day! Our kindergarten team this year is made up of Mrs. Hanna, Mrs. Eubanks, and Mrs. Perkins.

We love our TJ 2nd grade teachers--Ms. Lee, Mrs. Brundige, Ms. Kerr, and Mrs. Haak!

Yesterday was National Speech Language Pathologist Appreciation Day, so we'd like to recognize Mrs. Sampson and Ms. Neal. Thank you both for all you do for our TJ Tigers!

This special group of ladies make up our activity team, and we couldn't be more grateful! Say hello to Mrs. Bush (music), Mrs. McConnell (library), Ms. Salley (digital literacy), Ms. Neal (PE), Mrs. Beaird (library aide), Mrs. Baker (art), Mrs. Hume (intervention), and Mrs. Shock (global connections).

We are thankful for our 3rd grade team and their hard work each day! Thank you Mrs. Colley, Mrs. Burch, Ms. Duncan, and Mr. Hanna!

Let's give a shout out to our amazing first grade team--Ms. Bobbitt, Mrs. Hammitt, and Mrs. Simmons. Thanks for all you do!

It was the perfect day for science in the garden! Mrs. Shock showed students in Mrs. Fanning's fourth grade class how to construct solar ovens to deepen their understanding of energy transformation. Students observed how solar energy transforms into thermal energy, which then transforms into chemical energy when a delicious s'more is eaten. Who knew science could be so tasty!

Check out our BOGO sale tomorrow at our last school store of the year!

Have you met Mrs. Dewey (literacy coach) and Mrs. Helton (math coach)? These ladies work behind the scenes, but they help our teachers to deepen their knowledge of curriculum and improve their instructional practices. They are rockstars!

We made a boo-boo last week and didn't make a post about our amazing TJ boo-boo fixer! Happy belated School Nurse Appreciation day to the best of the best, Nurse Tori. We appreciate you and all that you do for our students and staff each day!

Last week, students in Global Connections took a 'trip' to Egypt where they explored ancient landmarks and artifacts, and learned how the Nile River makes life possible in the desert. Learning was brought to life in activity stations where students played the role of archaeologist (Dig it!), decoded a message written in hieroglyphics (Glyph it!), constructed a pyramid (Build it!), or played the ancient African count and capture game known as Mancala (Play it!). We love seeing our students learn - even if things get a bit messy!

Today is School Lunch Hero Day! We are so thankful for our cafeteria staff. They always have a friendly smile and a warm meal for our TJ tigers!

Our character word of the month is INITIATIVE! How do you take initiative at school and at home, TJ Tigers?

Happy National Parks Week! This week in Global Connections, students learned about these special places along with our responsibility to Leave No Trace. Check out the creativity on some of our first grader's park ranger vests: flashlights, water bottles, first aid kits, walkie talkies. They have what they need to help visitors explore parks safely and responsibly. And, if you have a 4th grade student at T.J., be sure to check their backpack. Each 4th grader received a pass for FREE admission to a national park over the Summer!

Next week is Bike to School Week! Grab your helmet and pedal your way to TJ!
