Good Morning WES Families,
Testing season has arrived. Our students are required to take their end of year assessments and this all begins this week! Here are some tips and things parents can do to help their child have a positive experience.
Make sure your child gets plenty of rest the night before the test.
Research shows that children do better in school if they have a good breakfast.
Do as much as you can to make your child feel comfortable. We do not want them to feel nervous.
Students in grades 2 - 4 should charge Chromebook at night so they do not begin their day with a dead Chromebook.
We will run our normal lunch schedules, however classroom schedules will be adjusted and modified. Attached here is the upcoming testing schedule.

March 8 - Festival of Colors. Wear bright colors to school.
March 10 - Anything but a Backpack Day. Bring your stuff to school in anything but a backpack. Remember that your "no backpack" must not be bigger than you :)

Have you deposited funds into your child's school meal account? Students are charged for each meal they eat from the cafeteria. Breakfast costs $2.05 each day, and lunch costs $2.85 (K-6) or $3.05 (7-12) each day. Visit bentonville.familyportal.cloud to add money to your child's account or click on the "Apply for Benefits" button to find out if your family is eligible for free and reduced price meals.

Join us as we celebrate your child's Very Important Person next week. Sunday, September 11th is National Grandparents Day. We would like to celebrate your child's special loved one. This could be a grandparent, uncle, aunt, sibling, friend, or whoever makes them feel loved. Our VIPs are invited to join your student for lunch. Please make sure we have them added to our list in the office. They are also welcome to join us for our pep rally on Friday. We will be making a fun slideshow and you may send photos of your child with their VIP to Mrs. Gilchrist at sgilchrist@bentonvillek12.org by Thursday, Sept. 8th.
