Our second annual Educators’ Career Fair is on Saturday, February 24. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in working in Bentonville Schools. The district is looking to hire teachers, bus drivers, administrators, paraprofessionals, nurses, administrative assistants, and facilities personnel.
We would love to see you there and visit with you!

Last week Ms. Johnson’s class had our first ever RAZORCALL! We got to meet two amazing student-athletes from the University of Arkansas; Sanu Jallow from the Razorback track and field team and Rosana Hicks from the volleyball team. Our kindergarteners learned about hard work, practice, and perseverance.
Thank you Sanu and Rosana! GO HOGS GO!

All Bentonville Reads kicked off on Friday with this year's book - A Boy Called Bat. Every family received 1 book, a flyer, and a bookmark. The bookmark will inform you of what chapter should be read each night. We are excited about this year's book and we hope you join in the fun by reading this together as a family!

First Graders have been learning about Space in their curriculum. They have talked about the constellations and phases of the moon. Today Mrs. McElroy's class used Oreo cookies to demonstrate the different phases of the moon. The student had a great time!

Our attendance clerk and counselors would like to share some attendance information with our families. They are also planning some fun things so be on the lookout!

Today our 2nd grade team is collaborating to learn, celebrate, reflect, complete learning walks in classrooms, assess goals, and develop next steps to increase student learning. Our literacy coach, Mrs. Rudder, is sharing a piece of data that reflects the percentage of students who are performing on the oral reading side, the percentage almost doubled from the beginning of the year. It is a huge win for student learning.
Each grade level is participating in these collaborative days this week and next.

Did you know that The International School at Mary Mae Jones will provide daily Spanish classes to all of our learners next school year?
The research is clear. Students who learn a new language at an early age have increased attentional control, working memory, metalinguistic awareness, and abstract and symbolic representation skills (Olusola O. Adesope, Tracy Lavin, Terri Thompson, and Charles Ungerleider, 2010).

We hope to see you at the International School on January 23rd or January 25th. If you cannot attend in person please use the Google Meet link below.
