We've got exciting things going on in 6th grade Social Studies! #UKnighted
We are so lucky to have Dr. Herring-Watson from UCA pair up with our teacher Faith Forrest on the regular. They blew our minds with their genius! They set up an experience where the kids used different types of ANIMATION to solve problems. It was a serious mic drop moment. So much so, that all of our 6th grade math teachers hosted this experience for their own students!
At Old High, we don't gatekeep. In fact, our teachers are sought out for their genius. In the last month, Mrs. Pollock has been asked to host a PD session on Gamification in Social Studies and Two of our Co-Teach math teams including Faith Forrest, Jennifer Johnson, Andrea Sanders, and Kathy Crouch, were asked to present on how their inclusion through co-teaching is pure magic.
Yesterday, an exceptional group of students participated in a Civics Bee competition. Among the team of eight, they achieved 2nd place overall, 3rd place overall, and five students advanced to the state level. Way to go Knights! #UKnighted
