Our namesake, Mary Mae Jones, was an educational influencer. This change will honor her work by advancing learning for our students while pioneering a new opportunity for our school community.
We are grateful for her unwavering commitment to children.
And, we value her family’s support in this process.
Next year, The International School at Mary Mae Jones will be the only elementary school in Northwest Arkansas to offer International Baccalaureate, or IB, for short.
“An IB education aims to transform students and schools as they learn, through dynamic cycles of inquiry, action, and reflection. Teachers enable and support students as they develop the approaches to learning they need - for both academic and personal success.”
There are several benefits for students learning within the IB model:
