It's official! Spring is right around the corner... Punxsutawney Phil did not see his shadow in front of thousands of spectators this Friday morning at Gobbler's Knob in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. This means, according to the legend, we are in for an early spring! This marks the first time since 2020 that Phil predicted an early spring, and the 21st time since records were kept.

Parent University: Parent University was designed to help parents learn about course selection and career planning in our high schools. Join us. We are glad to meet you and answer your questions. Most sessions are designed for parents of 8th graders. New sessions have been added this year for parents of students in grades 5-7 who want overview information earlier. And, some sessions are more pertinent for students in grades 9-11. All are welcome. Families may attend either evening at BHS or BWHS. Both high schools will have leaders present at both events. Call 479-254-5008 if we can answer questions about this event.

Reminder about Red Ribbon Week next week! The theme this year is Be Kind to Your Mind! We will kick off the week by allowing the students to wear their Halloween Costumes to school. However, with this comes much responsibility: no masks, no face paint/blood, no weapons and no inflatables. The costumes must also meet district dress code guidelines as set out in the middle school handbook. Monster Monday~ Don't let drugs turn your mind into a Monster (wear appropriate costumes) True Fan Tuesday~ Be a true fan of taking care of your mind (wear favorite sports team attire) Workout Wednesday~ Work out and increase your mind's endorphines (sweatpants/sweatshirts or working out gear) Thankful Thursday~ Be thankful for your beautiful mind (wear pink or red for your brain) Flip it Around Fun Friday~ Find fun things to do to keep your mind happy and healthy (students dress as teachers and teachers dress as students)

Does your student enjoy riding mountain bikes? Have you ever thought about letting them ride one of our local mountain bike trails? Lincoln Mountain Bike Team is a club affiliated with Lincoln Junior High for riders zoned for Lincoln in the Bentonville School District. The team is made up of boys and girls in 6th ~ 8th grade (in the fall) and volunteer coaches. Riders represent a wide range of skill and experience levels. ALL are Welcome! Practices begin in July and are usually held on Bentonville trails accessible from Lincoln. Races start in Sept. and are held at various sites around Arkansas. Registration begins April 1st. There are costs associated with participating on the team for equipment and registration fees but we have loner bikes and scholarship funds available to help offset costs. We want everyong who has the desire to participate to have the opportunity. There are expectations for riders and their families. These expectations and everything else essential to know are covered at pre-season parent/rider meetings. See the flier below and come learn more about the team.
