Parent University:
Parent University was designed to help parents learn about course selection and career planning in our high schools. Join us. We are glad to meet you and answer your questions. Most sessions are designed for parents of 8th graders.
New sessions have been added this year for parents of students in grades 5-7 who want overview information earlier. And, some sessions are more pertinent for students in grades 9-11.
All are welcome. Families may attend either evening at BHS or BWHS. Both high schools will have leaders present at both events. Call 479-254-5008 if we can answer questions about this event.

Teachers are in the building today getting ready to greet our AAMS Students in the morning. They are so excited and ready to get back into a daily routine.

Reminder about Red Ribbon Week next week!
The theme this year is Be Kind to Your Mind! We will kick off the week by allowing the students to wear their Halloween Costumes to school. However, with this comes much responsibility: no masks, no face paint/blood, no weapons and no inflatables. The costumes must also meet district dress code guidelines as set out in the middle school handbook.
Monster Monday~ Don't let drugs turn your mind into a Monster (wear appropriate costumes)
True Fan Tuesday~ Be a true fan of taking care of your mind (wear favorite sports team attire)
Workout Wednesday~ Work out and increase your mind's endorphines (sweatpants/sweatshirts or working out gear)
Thankful Thursday~ Be thankful for your beautiful mind (wear pink or red for your brain)
Flip it Around Fun Friday~ Find fun things to do to keep your mind happy and healthy (students dress as teachers and teachers dress as students)

Weekly Shining STAR Winners. Way to go, Blazers. Keep Shining Bright!

The 1st Annual Color Run will be held in less than 1 week! Let's help make this event/fundraiser a complete blow out! If you have not signed up to run, please do so as soon as possible so you can be guaranteed a SWAG bag of goodies personalized just for the Color Run.

Does your student enjoy riding mountain bikes? Have you ever thought about letting them ride one of our local mountain bike trails?
Lincoln Mountain Bike Team is a club affiliated with Lincoln Junior High for riders zoned for Lincoln in the Bentonville School District. The team is made up of boys and girls in 6th ~ 8th grade (in the fall) and volunteer coaches. Riders represent a wide range of skill and experience levels. ALL are Welcome!
Practices begin in July and are usually held on Bentonville trails accessible from Lincoln. Races start in Sept. and are held at various sites around Arkansas. Registration begins April 1st.
There are costs associated with participating on the team for equipment and registration fees but we have loner bikes and scholarship funds available to help offset costs. We want everyong who has the desire to participate to have the opportunity. There are expectations for riders and their families. These expectations and everything else essential to know are covered at pre-season parent/rider meetings.
See the flier below and come learn more about the team. Attend the informational parent/rider meeting Thursday, March 30th in the Ardis Ann Middle School library at 7:00pm.

Congratulations to two of our very own Ardis Ann Blazers!
Our students have done it again! The AAMS Blazers never stop shooting for the STARS as they continue to work hard in order to achieve great things.
Many of our students entered a T-shirt design contest sponsored by Kendrick Fincher: Hydration for Life Foundation. Their mission is to "promote proper hydration and prevent heat illness through education and supporting activities".
Two of our very own Blazers are finalists in the 2023 Youth Run T-shirt Design contest. Congratulations to Rush Neufer (6th grade) and Prerna Prashant (5th grade).
Please think about placing a VOTE for our Blazers! Voting is open March 1st through March 31st with the winner being announced Monday, April 3rd. The design receiving the most votes will be printed on the 25th Annual Race to Hydrate Youth Run T-Shirt. They will also receive a $100 cash prize, $100 for their school's art department and a complimentary shirt for themselves and their parents.
Good luck, Rush and Prerna! We are cheering for you both!

Wow...! This school year seems to be flying by. It is hard to believe that it is already March.
Take a quick look at everything happening here in the month of March and don't forget to "Spring Forward" an hour Sunday, March 12th for Daylight Savings Time.

National School Counseling Week: Feb 6-10
It's National School Counselors Week next week and it is always a great time to promote what School Counselors do to help support students, parents and staff. We thought it might be fun after a week iced in at home to have some Spirit Dress up days next week to help describe what School Counselors do.
These are easy dress up days, something that everyone might already have in their closet. Easy days to help promote something so important for our students, parents and staff. Of course, we think our School Counselors are the very best. We hope you all have had the pleasure of a positive interaction with one of our School Counselors. If not, drop them an email. They are always here to help support you and your child in every way possible.
