Our Foundations of Healthcare classes at Bentonville High School had the opportunity to partner with Grand Canyon University for a hands-on activity that brought real-world healthcare challenges to life!
Students stepped into the shoes of a doctor, healthcare administrator, and health information manager, working together to tackle a complex scenario within a hospital setting. Using critical thinking and data analysis, they formulated innovative solutions to industry challenges.
This experience not only deepened their understanding of healthcare roles but also highlighted the importance of teamwork and problem-solving in the medical field. We can’t wait to see how these future healthcare leaders will continue to shape the industry! #BentonvilleHighSchool #BentonvilleSchools #FoundationsOfHealthcare #GCU #FutureHealthcareLeaders #Collaboration #RealWorldExperience #Arkansas DCTE

Outdoor Ed students from Bentonville High School casting their lines and learning the art of fly fishing at the scenic Roaring River. A hands-on experience blending patience, skill, and the beauty of nature. #outdooreducation #roaringriver #flyfishing

This week, Bentonville High School's Foundations of Healthcare class welcomed a special guest speaker, Sirena Evans from Pea Ridge National Military Park! She shared incredible insights on Victorian-era medicine and its evolution, the intense realities of Civil War medical procedures (including amputations!), and the role of apothecaries in historical healthcare.
The highlight? Our students got hands-on, creating a traditional bruise remedy using a unique blend of ingredients like earthworms and vinegar — a true throwback to historical healing methods! 💊🧪
Thank you, @PeaRidgeNPS, for bringing history to life in our classroom! #HealthcareEducation #HistoryAndHealth #BentonvilleHS #ExperientialLearning #BentonvilleSchools #ArkansasDCTE #CTEinArkansas #ArkansasCareerTech
