Today, Saturday, Oct. 14th, we will experience a partial solar eclipse! This is an excellent out-of-school opportunity to build excitement and curiosity about these celestial events for your child. In Bentonville, we will experience the maximum obscurity of the sun at 11:53 a.m. with the entire event lasting from 10:25 a.m.-1:26 p.m.
Arkansas has distributed solar eclipse glasses to every library in the state. Call our local libraries to check availability.

Today is the day!! We are so excited to have our owls back in their home away from home.
Here are some quick reminders to prepare you for the first day of school!
*Car riders, please be patient with us. Not only will it take a couple of weeks to establish our dismissal routine, but we are anticipating a large number of car riders, especially during the first few days of school. The car line will be long and can take up to an hour or longer to get through while we teach our students the dismissal routine.
*To request new bus service or to see your bus route for this fall, download the BusQuest app and submit a request. Bus times may fluctuate, so be sure to check your child’s route information prior to the start of school. One important note for your family; once you sign up for transportation service with BusQuest, you’ll still use the BusCompass app to see real-time updates and to know when the bus is within three bus stops of your child’s stop. Instructions for both apps are included below. Email our Transportation Department with any questions you may have at BusRequest@bentonvillek12.org.
*Bus Quest
*Bus Compass
*Send a water bottle and snack with your child.
*Doors open at 7 A.M., and the tardy bell will ring at 7:30 A.M.
Share your 1st Day of School Pictures in the comments below. Let's GOOO OWLS!

Can you believe we only have ONE more day until we kick off our 1st day of the 2023-2024 school year together?! We are ready to have our little owls back in their nest here at ESE. As we continue to count down the days to the first day of school, we want to remind you of a few things regarding arrival and dismissal during the first two weeks of school. If your child is a car rider, we ask you to remain in your vehicle when picking your child up from school. ALL car riders must have the temporary 23-24 ESE Car Rider Pass (handed out at Open House) displayed in their front windshield. Permanent car rider tags will be provided a few weeks into the start of the school year to all regular car riders. If you do not have your 23-24 ESE Car Rider Pass, you will need to park your car and wait for a staff member to assist you. You will need to have a photo ID available for our staff to scan before your child is released from school. Since our school buses and other childcare transportation buses (Club Infiniti, Mobius, and Primrose) have additional students to pick up from surrounding schools, we will hold all cars until the buses have left the ESE premises. Car riders, please be patient with us. It will take a couple of weeks to establish our dismissal routine. For the first few weeks, the car line will be long and can take up to an hour or longer to get through while we teach our students the dismissal routine.
Traffic will be heavy for the first few days of school. Please leave early, give yourself plenty of extra time, and be patient.
1.) Expect heavy traffic this week. You'll also encounter many children walking to school, so be on the lookout for them.
2.) Expect school buses to be delayed. The first week of school is always a period of adjustment for our bus drivers and students alike. Students will be late getting to school and home, but we'll work through delays quickly.
3.) Remember, children will be boarding and exiting school buses. Watch for them and never go around or pass a stopped school bus.
4.) Put away your cell phone in school zones and parking lots. Car rider staff need your full attention to keep all students safe.
Please refer to your transportation handout provided at Open House for additional details. We ask that all of our ESE families watch our parent car rider video for additional information regarding our car line procedures: https://vimeo.com/739091661
Tomorrow we are all together again. What are some words of encouragement for your fellow Owls?

Meet our Exceptional Education Team! They are collectively excited about planning and collaborating with our current and new team members to continue implementing inclusive practices at Evening Star! ⭐️🦉⭐️
