During skills, Ms. Johnson's kindergarten class went outside and played “Duck Duck Goose” to practice blending syllables.
Instead of saying “Duck Duck Goose”, students said the syllables of the word. When they were ready to pick someone, they said the whole word.
Learning is so much fun! 🦆

Mrs. Griffin's 3rd-grade class is having fun while learning math & science!
Her class arranged their shoes into different patterns. They used the patterns they noticed to make predictions about the shoes in other classes.
During math, they sorted cards to show all the different ways they could express multiplication equations. They worked with arrays, equal groups, tape diagrams, and repeated addition!

¡Nos encanta aprender español!
At The International School at Mart Mae Jones, students participate in Spanish class every day.
It is so much fun hearing students and staff learning and speaking Spanish in all areas of our school!

Here's the monthly newsletter from our counselors.

Ms. Yarbrough's class discussed magnets today.
They had many "wonders" about magnets and began investigating to learn more.

Big things are happening at The International School!

The second IB Learner Profile Trait we will showcase is the Trait of being Open-Minded.
OPEN-MINDED - We critically appreciate our own cultures and personal histories, as well as the values and traditions of others. We seek and evaluate a range of points of view, and we are willing to grow from the experience.

We will begin showcasing International Baccalaureate (IB) Learner Profile Traits as we get closer to the beginning of our school year.
The first (of ten) we will highlight is the IB Learner Profile Trait of CARING.
CARING - We show empathy, compassion, and respect. We have a commitment to service, and we act to make a positive difference in the lives of others and in the world around us.

We can't wait to welcome all our students and families back!
