At OHMS, we enjoy adding a touch of fun to our days. Last week we held a Super Secret Teacher Spirit Week. We managed to keep it under wraps until Friday, when all the staff arrived dressed as students!

OHMS 6th grader, Abby Bird, was celebrated at the 29th annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration at Walmart's Home Office on January 15 for her winning essay describing how we can live out MLK's legacy in our community. Abby presented an initiative to help middle school students feel included and supported by peers during this difficult age.

It's supposed to be a cold first day back! Be sure to bundle up!

Thank you to our wonderful PTO for helping us end the semester with a beautiful and delicious luncheon! We appreciate everyone who donated to make this a successful event. Shout out to Onyx Coffee for providing the coffee!

THANK YOU doesn't quite express how appreciative we are to Lowe's and all the phenomenal volunteers who have worked endlessly this week to get the garden updated! We can't wait to see the finished product!

Congratulations to these 5th and 6th graders whose artwork was accepted by Celebrating Art to be published in their Fall 2024 Art Book, which is a selective anthology of student artwork from across the country. The top 45% of total entries are invited to be published in this book. Such an honor for these young artists!

Visit Gusano's in Bentonville tonight to support the OHMS PTO!

WATCH OUT OHMS! The Grinch is here and he is giving grades!

Thank you to families and the Thea Foundation for donating to our classroom project “Wobble and Weave.” We were able to buy wobble boards to help students move their bodies in positive ways while working on art with their hands.

Team Champions had 35 students participate in the Martin Luther King Jr. Essay Invitational sponsored by Walmart. Each student submitted an essay detailing an initiative they'd like to begin in our school or community in order to continue Dr. King’s legacy of leading with courage, demonstrating acceptance, and creating a more equitable environment for all!

Hello, OHMS Families! Today is the last day to order See's Candy to help our technology department raise funds for supplies and equipment. Lots of yummy gift ideas for friends, family, employees, etc., and your help is much appreciated! Please share with anyone who might be interested. Thank you for your support!

Don't miss Spirit Night on December 19th!

Team Excalibur conducted character autopsies by digging deeper into our text, “Home of the Brave.”

Fifth grade students have finished reading the book "Home of the Brave" and celebrated with a character autopsy! Students were tasked with peeling back the layers of the main character of the novel and providing text evidence to support their analysis.
