MAP Testing on Monday and Tuesday, January 9 and 10.
At RBMS we want all of our students--regardless of their current academic level--to continually grow and improve. A point of emphasis this semester is to celebrate that growth. MAP assessments are untimed in order to better gauge each student’s strengths and weaknesses rather than their ability to complete the tests within a specific time frame.
There are a couple of other notable dates in the near future, too. Please remember school is not in session on MLK Day, Monday, January 16th. The next off day after that is Friday, February 17 (a professional development day).

Today we enjoyed a live draw for each Homeroom to be allocated a World Cup team. So much fun as homerooms were randomly selected and then chose a numbered card to reveal their team. Ss immediately started researching their team: records, wins, probabilities, etc. #teamRBMS

Our first Ss to receive tokens for the new Book Vending Machine have happily picked their books. Ss demonstrating @BarkerBruins #PRIDE may be rewarded with a token any time during the year. All staff have two gold coins to pass out. Can't wait to see who's next.
The @BarkerBruins #spiritday is #redwhiteandblue in recognition of our great country. Only captured a couple of images, but the celebrations were significant. Staff, especially, were incredibly patriotic. Although too many flaunted the #nowhitepantsafterlaborday rule. Apparently @mrbobbybones says it's okay now.

Dakota won our first giveaway for Hispanic Heritage Month! Students are encouraged to read a book either by a Hispanic author, featuring a Hispanic main character, or one that has won a Pura Belpré award. Once they have completed the book, they turn in a summary and are entered into a drawing to win a free book.
