Thomas Jefferson Elemtary students are recognizing National Bullying Prevention month. Counseling lessons in October will focus on bully prevention and building empathy. In addition, throughout the school year 4th grade has a SMART goal to grow their understanding of the differences between rude, mean, and bullying by 5% on a post test. This will be done through guidance lessons and support from our school counselor Mrs. Moore over the course of the year.

TJ Families! We invite you to join us for "Walk in My Shoes Night" next Wednesday, 9/14 from 4:30 to 6:00 pm at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School. This is a great opportunity to get a glimpse of what a day in the life of your TJ Tiger Cub looks like. Please see the attached photos for additional information about the event.
TJ will be hosting a couple of volunteer trainings during the month of September. All parents or community members wishing to volunteer must complete this annual training before volunteering at school, on field trips, etc. Please check out the attached graphic for more information on dates and times. Have you added money to your child's school meal account? The federal government has withdrawn its blanket free lunch options so, on the first day of school, students will be charged for each food they buy in our cafeterias. Breakfast will cost $2.05 each day, and lunch will cost $2.85 (K-6) or $3.05 (7-12) each day. Open House for grades 1 through 4 will take place from 4:00 to 6:00 pm.
