Remember to come to school dressed as your favorite book character tomorrow. We can't wait to see which character you choose!

Last week, our upper grade students participated in the Penny Boat Challenge while learning about the rainforest biome. Students considered surface area and weight distribution before constructing a boat made of aluminum foil. We may have some future engineers at TJ because the winning boat held 184 pennies. Nice work Davis, Gray, Lev, and Gracen!

The snow is coming down now, but just last week our TJ Tigers were dreaming of Spring in the city of light and love: Paris, France! If only we were strolling down the Champs-Élysées, stopping for a croissant (and some cheese!) at a sidewalk cafe, and taking a ride to the top of the Eiffel Tower. Le sigh... We hope you're staying safe and warm, and perhaps planning your next adventure.

We can't wait to see the great things in store for students, staff, and families at Thomas Jefferson Leadership Academy!

Our character word of the month is UNIQUENESS. Here are some ways you can show uniqueness:
• Tell each person in your family why you think they are unique.
• Ask your parents if you can choose your own clothes to show your uniqueness.
• Have a family art night. Plan out the activity and create something together. Remember to celebrate each other’s ideas for the project.

Happy National School Counseling Week to Mrs. Moore! We are so thankful that you are a part of our TJ family and appreciate all the work you do for our tiger cubs.

G'day, Mate! Our TJ Tigers just returned from a visit to Oceania. We began in mainland Australia where students learned about Aboriginal culture and native wildlife. Some of our more adventurous students also tried Vegemite! Then, we explored the world's largest living structure - The Great Barrier Reef. We ended in New Zealand where students learned about Maori culture. They also learned why New Zealand has the world's largest population of flightless birds. Stay tuned for pics from our next destination in Asia!

Our kindergarten students had a royal celebration of learning at their king and queen day today!

We had so much fun celebrating the 100th Day of School at Thomas Jefferson Leadership Academy!

Tomorrow is the 100th day of school! If you'd like to dress up to celebrate, you may wear 100 things on your shirt or dress like you are 100 years old. Even if you don't dress up, you'll still be 100 days smarter!

Thomas Jefferson Leadership Academy is hosting a community presentation tonight, 1/22, to share more about our Leadership Academy and Parent Choice option for families in Bentonville Schools. We hope you can join! The event will take place at 6:00 pm in the TJ Cafeteria.
