Our character word of the month is UNIQUENESS. Here are some ways you can show uniqueness:
• Tell each person in your family why you think they are unique.
• Ask your parents if you can choose your own clothes to show your uniqueness.
• Have a family art night. Plan out the activity and create something together. Remember to celebrate each other’s ideas for the project.

Happy National School Counseling Week to Mrs. Moore! We are so thankful that you are a part of our TJ family and appreciate all the work you do for our tiger cubs.

G'day, Mate! Our TJ Tigers just returned from a visit to Oceania. We began in mainland Australia where students learned about Aboriginal culture and native wildlife. Some of our more adventurous students also tried Vegemite! Then, we explored the world's largest living structure - The Great Barrier Reef. We ended in New Zealand where students learned about Maori culture. They also learned why New Zealand has the world's largest population of flightless birds. Stay tuned for pics from our next destination in Asia!

Our kindergarten students had a royal celebration of learning at their king and queen day today!

We had so much fun celebrating the 100th Day of School at Thomas Jefferson Leadership Academy!

Tomorrow is the 100th day of school! If you'd like to dress up to celebrate, you may wear 100 things on your shirt or dress like you are 100 years old. Even if you don't dress up, you'll still be 100 days smarter!

Thomas Jefferson Leadership Academy is hosting a community presentation tonight, 1/22, to share more about our Leadership Academy and Parent Choice option for families in Bentonville Schools. We hope you can join! The event will take place at 6:00 pm in the TJ Cafeteria.

Some of our first grade students have been participating in a Reader's Theatre called "Walking Under the Stars". They have been practicing their script for a while and got to perform it for one another this week during their enrichment block. Great job first grade!

Thank you to Dan Skoff and KNWA for hosting our 3rd graders at the news station yesterday! They had a fun-filled day of learning and they are TV stars! See the video here: https://www.nwahomepage.com/video/thomas-jefferson-elementary-3rd-grade-knwa-field-trip/10370060/
A snow day seems appropriate since students learned about the continent of Antarctica in Global Connections this week! While playing in the snow, perhaps your TJ tiger is imagining that they're Roald Amundsen - the famous Norwegian explorer who led the first successful expedition to the South Pole. Or maybe they're waddling around and sliding on their bellies, pretending to be one of the eight species of penguins that call Antarctica home. Either way, we hope you're having fun making snow day memories!

TJ will dismiss at 12:30 today due to incoming inclement weather. Stay safe and warm, tiger families!

Join us for our Winter parties today! Remember your ID to check in at the office.

Congrats to our TJ spelling bee winners, Blake (1st place) and Wylee (2nd place). We are proud of each of our participants!

Winter Break is here! We hope you enjoy a relaxing and joyful break with your family. We will see you back at school on January 6, 2025!

Wear your favorite cute or ugly holiday sweater tomorrow!

Bring your spare change to help our SLC room with their community service project this week! Your class could win a pizza party!!!

If you plan to join your child's Winter party, please remember to bring your ID for check-in and park in a TJ parking lot rather than in the empty lot across the street. See the graphic for our party times!

Wear your favorite flannel shirt tomorrow for Flannel Friday!

It was an honor to announce Thomas Jefferson Leadership Academy to our community today! This exciting new model will be one of the newest parent choice offerings within Bentonville Schools.
If you have any questions or would like more information about the opportunities Thomas Jefferson Leadership Academy can provide for your student and family, please feel free to reach out. We’d love to connect with you!
We look forward to seeing our students grow as leaders and supporting them as they prepare to make a lasting impact on our campus, community, and beyond!
