1st grade had an a-MAIZE-ing time celebrating their learning of the Mayan culture today!

Since it was a state testing week and the week before a holiday, students were able to blow off some STEAM in Global Connections. They had several activity stations to choose from and their creativity, imagination, and ingenuity was front and center. We hope our tigers get some rest over the holiday break because they're headed to Finland first thing in December!

Our kindergarten and fourth grade students had a blast on their November field trips to Turpentine Creek & Farm For The Soul!

Happy Thanksgiving, TJ Tigers! We are thankful for YOU! There is no school November 25-29. We will see you back at school on December 2.

Happy Education Support Professionals Day! We are thankful for our TJ instructional aides. They are willing to jump in and help anywhere and everywhere they are needed, and we couldn't do our jobs without them!

Are you wondering why your student is practicing their yodeling skills? It might be because they recently 'visited' Switzerland in Global Connections! Students learned about the jewel of the Swiss Alps - the Matterhorn, along with the history behind its rescue dog icon - the St. Bernard. To honor this special breed (and the country's equally well known first responders), our kindergarten through first grade students made their very own rescue kits. And since Switzerland is world famous for their chocolate, third and fourth graders put their five senses to the test during a Swiss chocolate tasting activity. Stay tuned for our next adventure!

Happy School Psychology Week to our school psychology specialist, Mrs. Leachman! We are thankful to have you as a part of our TJ family!

Alaska Day is October 18th, so our students recently took a 'trip' to America's largest state via Global Connections to learn more about its landforms, wildlife, and native people. And since Alaska is home to the largest bear population in the United States, we decided to grow our own! Students followed the scientific process to determine how their (gummy) bears would react to four different solutions. They conducted two observations over the course of the day and were amazed by the results. Who knew osmosis was so cool?!

During classroom guidance this month, Mrs. Moore will be discussing bullying. Please talk to your student about the difference between rude, mean, and bullying. We are all striving to be kind TJ Tigers!

October is National Physical Therapy Month! We're thankful to have our physical therapist, Ms. Becerra, as a member of our TJ tiger family!

October is Principal Appreciation Month! Thank you, Mrs. Carlson, for all you do for our TJ students, staff, and families. We appreciate your leadership!
