We’re proud to introduce our 2025–2026 Student Council Members! 🌟
These 4th grade student leaders will represent their classmates, share ideas, and help make our school an even better place to learn and grow.
Let’s give them a huge round of applause! 👏

We’ve officially reached Trailblazer Status on Beanstack — with 75% of our students logging their reading minutes! 📚✨
Together, we’ve already read 75,905 minutes toward our 200,000-minute goal — what an amazing start! 🙌
It’s not too late to join the fun! Mrs. Halbmaier will be available during late Parent-Teacher Conference nights to offer help in getting them started.

Our students wrapped up the CKLA Classic Tales Unit with an unforgettable Alice in Wonderland Tea Party Day! Teachers dressed up, classrooms were transformed, and students showed off their best tea party outfits.
From reading about Alice’s Mad Hatter adventure and discussing theme and personification, to writing imaginative stories, tackling math arrays and division, exploring weather hazards, and even building Wonderland towers — it was a magical day of learning, laughter, and creativity.

Staff Spotlight: Ms. Moore
Say hello to Ms. Moore, one of our creative and adventurous 4th grade teachers here at VES! Since joining us in 2022, she’s brought a thoughtful, inspiring presence to our team and her love for the art of teaching shines in her classroom each day.
Originally from Texas, Ms. Moore may have been shy as a child, but today she’s full of courage, curiosity, and drive. From weekend bike rides to tackling DIY home projects and dreaming of European adventures through Greece, Croatia, and beyond, her adventurous spirit is contagious. She cheers for people who do things despite their fears and lives that out herself every day.

Staff Spotlight: Mrs. Kirkendall
You may remember her as Miss New, but after a summer wedding, we’re excited to reintroduce her as Mrs. Kirkendall, one of our amazing 2nd grade teachers at VES!
Originally from Greenbriar, Arkansas, she joined the Vaughn family in 2023 and brings creativity, energy, and a love of learning to her classroom every day. Whether she’s leading a lesson, exploring new places on the weekend, or showing off her skills on the pickleball court, Mrs. Kirkendall is all about fun, connection, and helping kids believe in themselves.
She loves working at a school that values connection and we love the heart and fun she brings to our team!
