Meet Mrs. Halbmaier, our library media specialist and resident book expert! A Bentonville native, she’s been part of the Vaughn team since 2022 and has a heart for helping students fall in love with books and learning.

With her background in both teaching and library science, Mrs. Halbmaier brings a wealth of knowledge and lots of enthusiasm to the VES library. Her favorite part of working here? Staff Spotlight: Meet Mrs. Schacht!

Mrs. Kendra Schacht is proud to serve as the principal of Vaughn Elementary, and this year marks her fourth year on the VES team! She was part of the founding staff when the school opened in 2022 and is passionate about building a school community where every eagle feels known, supported, and inspired to grow.
Mrs. Schacht works closely with staff, families, and students to ensure Vaughn is a place where learning and relationships come first. Her favorite part of the job? Celebrating the little wins and watching students soar!

We’re excited to welcome Mr. Matt Knoble to Vaughn Elementary as our new music teacher! While this is his first year at VES, he’s no stranger to Bentonville. Mr. Knoble has been teaching middle school in the district for many years.
He brings a passion for music, a heart for students, and a wealth of experience to our campus. We can’t wait to see how he inspires our young musicians this year!

If you’ve visited the front office at VES, chances are you’ve been greeted by the bright smile of Mary Samuel, our amazing registrar! Mary is often the first person families meet when enrolling at Vaughn, and she makes everyone feel right at home with her friendly, funny, and welcoming personality.
From handling enrollment and residency documents to keeping student records organized, Mary is a go-to support for both families and staff. We’re so lucky to have her as part of our VES family! 🦅

Our final Eagle Summit of the year was a celebration of hard work, character, and community! We recognized students who consistently demonstrated our core values and celebrated those who completed this year’s reading challenges. Way to go, Eagles! A special thank you to the Grimsley Junior High Jazz Band and Mr. Hume for their incredible performance. Your talent and energy added so much to the event. What a treat for our students and staff! We are proud of all our Eagles for finishing strong and staying true to the values that make Vaughn Elementary such a special place to learn and grow.

We have a sprinkler system that will be damaged if cars park on the grass. Overflow parking is allowed on the North side of Opal Road and the West Side of Barron Road.

K-2 students have done a great job testing. Now it's time for our 3rd and 4th graders to shine! Third and fourth grade students will take the ATLAS tests next week (May 5–9). Each day focuses on a different subject, so please help your child be ready to do their best! 📅 Schedule: Mon 5/5 – Reading Tues 5/6 – Math Wed 5/7 – Science Thurs 5/8 – Writing Testing begins at 7:30 AM—arrive on time!
