🌴 It's Chicka Chicka Boom Boom week in the library! Kindergarteners are building their own coconut trees to see how many letters can make it to the top. 🌴

You scream, I scream, we all scream for STEM! 2nd grade has been studying the different states of matter. They learned how some changes are reversible , and some are not. Through their learning, Mrs. Johnson's class learned that ice cream is the perfect example of a change you cannot reverse!

As we begin Celebrate Freedom Week, we want to honor Mrs. Overman's son, Grant. He just finished Basic Training and is a shining example of why we are able to celebrate our freedom. Thank you, Grant, for your service! 🎖️

4th graders from Mrs. Perez's class challenged Officer Cook to figure out how to fit a 3X5 index card around his body.

Last week, Kindergarten's Book of the Week was Jack and the Beanstalk. Peek in at Mrs. Glueck's class working hard on a STEM project. These scientists had to make a prediction of how many applejacks would fit on their “beanstalk”, then they conducted the experiment. After, they recorded their data.

And still more Dot Day smiles!

We just had to share more Dot Day fun!

In honor of Dot Day, first grade experimented to see how many dots of water a penny could hold. Check out Mrs. Rhea's scientists! STEM learning at its best!!

We wanted to take a minute to recognize Officer Cook. He's here not only keeping our school safe but also building positive relationships with our students. We appreciate you!

Just a reminder- tomorrow is Dot Day!

Mrs. Perez's 4th graders had a blast exploring the sensory properties of guava! It was an eye-opening experience, and they learned that science can be as delicious as it is educational.

A huge shout out to the 162 volunteers that went through our training the past few weeks. If you are interested in volunteering at Vaughn, it is a requirement that you do the training. Please reach out to our counselor, msnow@bentonvillek12.org if you missed the opportunity. Thank you for your support!

Literacy integration with technology and communication leads to STEM learning in Mrs. Peeler’s room! Students constructed models with Mr. Potato Head to review parts of the body and identified words on their iPads to build their communication.
