3rd graders in Mrs. Dunham’s class compared and contrasted Asteroids, Meteors, and Comets through the use of the Jigsaw method. According to Visible Learning research, the Jigsaw instructional method has an effect size of 1.20, with the potential to considerably accelerate student learning.
Students broke up into sections to become experts on one of three topics (Asteroids, Meteors, and Comets). Then, students formed small groups composed of an expert on each topic. Small groups shared their findings with one another and created a triple Venn diagram with details from their research.

We are so proud of our 3rd and 4th grade Girls on the Run girls! This Fall, these girls have blended physical activity with life skills to help them focus on individual strengths while building a sense of connection. Tuesday, they promoted a "Friendship Campaign" where they made bracelets and passed them out during morning arrival. On Saturday, we will celebrate on the Downtown Square in Bentonville with a 5K run!

During our November Grizzly Gathering we enjoyed guest speaker, Corporal Aaron Mankin. He shared his story of his time in the Armed Forces and how important Veteran's Day is in the month of November. We always appreciate and love his visits, and want to thank him again for coming to our school!

Kindergarten learned all about Nursery Rhymes and fables. We learned that these are stories that are passed down through the years and many of them have lessons or songs with them. We celebrated our learning by having a Nursery Rhyme Olympics, using many of the Nursery Rhymes that we have learned.
Olympic challenges included Tortoise & Hare obstacle course, Jack & Jill water pail race, Jack Be Nimble candlestick jump, Humpty Dumpty egg carry, and Hickory Dickory Dock-scoot around the clock. #agegrizzlies #visiblelearning

Apple Glen first graders collaborated with junior and senior Ignite students today as a culminating activity for their human body unit. Ignite students taught them a lesson, had students explore in stations, played with them at recess, taught them movement exercises, and helped them trace their bodies so that they could begin a human body project. AGE 1st graders had so much fun with their "big kid" helpers! #agegrizzlies #visiblelearning #whereexcellencelives #bhsignite

3rd graders in Ms. Tschetter & Mrs. Thayer classes have been busy reading about some amazing classic tales. "Wind in the Willows" and "Alice in Wonderland" being two favorites. They celebrated the end of their first unit with a tea party and a hands down conversation!
