AGES Students were treated to a guest speaker during the November Grizzly Gathering in honor of Veteran's Day this month. Marine Veteran Aaron Mankin shared his story or overcoming the odds and encouraged all of us. Thank you Aaron for your service to our country and for sharing your story!

Mrs. Rankin's first grade friends are getting so good at sharing their math strategies! They are using relational thinking and what they know about addition and subtraction to find the missing number in equations. #AGEGrizzlies #whereexcellencelives

We love our Guardians in Action and the support they provide at AGE. Today Mr. Riches is volunteering his time and we caught him reading to Mrs. Rankin's 1st grade class. Thank you Mr. Riches for all you do!

First Grade Families: It is book character contest time. Use a potato to design a book character. Let's promote "Spud"-tacular Books!!! All spuds are due by November 13th to display in the library!

Welcome to the Middle Ages!
Our 4th graders took a deep dive into the Middle Ages during their literacy unit. Today, they transformed AGE into a Medieval castle and celebrated all day. They participated in games such as jousting, horse racing, and a javelin throw. They also made stained glass windows, a STEM catapult challenge, and a feast to end the day.

Mrs. Anderson’s kindergarten class enjoyed making characters and a setting to go with the poem 5 Little Pumpkins.

2nd Grade ESL students have been learning about Ancient Greek Civilization and they built The Parthenon as an activity.

1st Grade ESL students have been working hard over the past few weeks! They have learned about pumpkins and used pictures to sequence the pumpkin’s life cycle while working on sentence writing. #AGEGrizzlies

First grade was so excited to have Dr. Sonal Bhakta speak to them on Friday as they finished up their unit on the human body. She read a book, talked about her job at Mercy Hospital, and answered many, many questions.

Thank you to Grace Point Church for providing our staff with Sonic drinks! We appreciate it so much!

Our 4th graders have been working hard during math small groups! They are using vertical surface activities while working on adding with the standard algorithm.

Today, we had players from the BHS football team to greet our students as they arrived at Apple Glen. We wished them luck as they prepare for their homecoming game tonight.
Some of these high school Seniors attended Apple Glen as elementary students and found their artwork tiles that still are displayed in our hallways! They also gave our students advice as they continue their educational journey. #whereexcellencelives #appleglengrizzlies

Join us for Bentonville Moves Week October 2nd - 6th!

Yesterday, Apple Glen enjoyed a visit from Dr. Jones, Senator Jim Dotson, Representative Brit MacKenzie, and members of our School Board to showcase Visible Learning and how our students are leading their learning in our classrooms. #whereexcellencelives #visiblelearning #visiblelearners

Students in 2nd Grade were welcomed to Grandma Eudora's Tshirt Factory this morning. Ms. Trolinger, Mrs. Neville, and Mrs. Jones's class pretended they worked in a t-shirt factory this morning by bundling tens and practicing place value! They had so much fun adding "t-shirt" bundles to a clothesline to fill orders. They then practiced filling their own orders in groups!

Mrs. Neville's 2nd grade class learned that date harvesting was an important job in ancient Asia. Her class was interested in trying them, so they had a date tasting last week. Surprisingly, all the students liked them!

Miss Trolinger’s second grade class on a virtual book break with Peter H. Reynolds the author of "Ish" and "The Dot".
Mrs. Jones’s class worked on giving feedback on their own work in place value! They discussed how it’s okay to be in the learning pit and what they can do next to get to mastery. After they collaborated by practicing the skill. Their motto is the only place you can go is up!
