
Two teams from Bentonville West High School recently competed at the Arkansas Economics Challenge at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway. One of our two teams won first place in the Team Presentation event and first place overall in the Adam Smith Division. This team also qualified for the Semi-Finals National Challenge in April. This is the fourth time BWHS has competed and placed in the Arkansas Economics Challenge.

The newly relaunched BWHS Quiz Bowl team placed fourth in the NWA Regional Tournament on Saturday, March 2, at Rogers High School. This was the first tournament for the team this year, and the first time most of them had ever competed in an official Quiz Bowl event. #clawsup

Upper level world language students participated in the International Festival last week. These students prepared authentic food, art, and research from all over the world and presented it to their peers , teachers, and administrators. We are so proud of all their hard work!








Our West Polar Plungers took the plunge into Beaver Lake on Saturday to raise money for the Special Olympics of Arkansas. It was a chilly fun time for all, and our team raised $1,245! Thank you to all who donated and supported our athletes and team this year!


Sophomore Angelica Healey was accepted to the Lemke Journalism Project, an award-winning student media training program hosted by the University of Arkansas’s School of Journalism and Strategic Media. Angelica will spend her Saturdays this spring working with local journalists, media professionals and U of A student mentors learning to produce podcasts, television news and a newspaper. Congratulations, Angelica!

The BWHS yearbook, The Claw, was recently featured (twice!) in Walsworth's Possibilities inspiration book, which showcases the most captivating and innovative yearbooks from across the country and highlights creative excellence and journalistic achievement.




We were so privileged to have the Galvin Cello Quartet come perform and teach at BWHS. The Walton Art Center 10x10 series funded the performance. Enrique Garcia played the Dvorak Cello Concerto for the quartet and played beautifully. We are so grateful for sharing their wisdom with the students at West!



Our Wolverine Special Olympians had a blast today competing in volleyball. It was great seeing old friends and meeting new ones. Our Olympians competed hard and walked away in 3rd place. Way to go athletes!

If your Chromebook is not working, please visit ask any teacher to submit a Help Desk ticket BEFORE February 27!
