BWHS West Writers congratulate senior Sophie Williams-Richmond on her first place achievement in the ATU Lit Fest writing contest! BWHS juniors and seniors attended the event at Arkansas Tech University on April 18, selecting focused breakouts on different genres of writing, editing, and pursuing agent representation.

Last week, World Language students participated in the annual BWHS International Festival where they celebrated countries from all over the world. Students made posters, a native dish to share, and some even dressed in traditional clothing. Outstanding work!

West Writers is excited to announce the 2nd Annual BWHS Writers Conference! Before Spring Break, the BWHS Fashion Club competed in an unconventional materials challenge, creating four completed looks out of found or discarded items. Their materials included CDs, aluminum foil, coffee filters, magazines and more.




Our Samsung Solve for Tomorrow team continues to impress! Veera Sai Joshik Unnam, Ronak Pai and Lalit Aditiya Kameshawaran are one of just ten teams in the nation to be named national finalists. They will head to Washington, D.C. later this month to pitch their Oral Scan app to a group of Samsung executives. Three of the ten finalists will be selected as national winners!

Our very own principal Dr. Jonathon Guthrie is the Arkansas High School Principal of the Year! Dr. Guthrie was surprised with the award today at a pep rally by Arkansas Association of Educational Administrators members.
This award is given to an Arkansas secondary-level principal who has provided high-quality learning opportunities and displayed exceptional leadership skills.
Dr. Guthrie has been the principal at Bentonville West since it opened and has focused on student and staff safety, engagement and a sense of belonging in his time at West. #wearewest


Congratulations to Cameron Ginther, Veera Sai Joshik Unnam, and Jhon Perez on qualifying for the All-State Programming Competition! These talented students will compete later this month against students from all over Arkansas.
