Last week, Mrs. Buck's NWACC Child Growth and Development students visited Walnut Farm Montessori School for an observational visit. They connected theoretical foundations, including Montessori's philosophies, with real-life educational practices in a professional setting.
Culinary, Chemistry of Foods, Food Safety and Nutrition and Chemistry students got the opportunity to hear guest speakers Rosa Buescher and Dr. Ya-Jane Wang from the University of Arkansas Food Science Program. On Friday, the BWHS The Claw Yearbook and YAWP Lit Mag staffs toured the University of Arkansas School of Journalism and Strategic Media, learning about the numerous opportunities for student media. They visited with professors, student journalists, photographers and admissions.

Last week, students in the Career Studies department attended Mock Interviews. More than 700 students participated in this two-day event, which brought in business partners and community leaders to interview students. Our community partners were very impressed by the excellent students we have at West!
West students Faith Lee, Sarah McDougald, Maebrie Bettinardi, and Lauren Sheets recently attended the Business Women's Conference where they networked with other women in business from all over NWA and observed a panel of incredible women who discussed their careers as investors. It was a phenomenal experience and we were grateful for the opportunity to attend.
