Hey Grizzlies! This is just a reminder to keep your Chromebooks charged to minimize the need for tech. assistance when we get back in August. We hope you're having a great summer!

Please help us to also welcome Marleah Purdy, who will be serving as an Assistant Principal who we’ll be sharing with Creekside Middle this school year.
Here is a little bit from Marleah:
I am in my fifth year with Bentonville Schools. For seven years, I taught special education at the middle and junior high levels, and for the past two years I served as the district's Special Education Curriculum and Instruction Specialist. My husband and I just welcomed our first baby girl, Scottie, who we adore! I am beyond excited to be back in the building serving students and grateful to be joining the Grimsley team!

Please give a warm Grizzly welcome to one of our new Assistant Principals, Josh Turpin!
Here's a little bit from him:
My wife (Senta) and two children (Cash 15, Kayla 12) were led to relocate to NW Arkansas by way of California last year where I taught 5th grade Science at Bright Field Middle School. This will be my 13th year in education where I have served as a classroom teacher for 8 years (Junior high and High School) and 3 years as an Elementary school site administrator. I’m very excited to be a part of the Grimsley family and look forward to serving our families, staff and community!!

Please congratulate our May Teachers of the Month: Mr. Worthey and Ms. Flesner!

Grimsley's own Austin Horan spent his job shadowing days with Chief Meteorologist Dan Skoff reporting the weather! You can see Austin's awesome forcasting abilities here: https://www.nwahomepage.com/video/austin-horan-gives-the-7-day-forecast-as-a-super-weather-teen/8640727/

GJHS sent 373 eighth graders into the community for two days this week for our first ever job shadowing program. Students worked at restaurants, pet hospitals, engineering firms, law offices, fire and police departments, schools, airports, welding shops, business offices, interior design firms, construction firms, salons, mechanic shops, medical offices, and so much more. We received such positive feedback from the business community, who will be continuing to partner with us in the future.

The next wave of girls basketball girls are at GJHS! Coach Henry is building culture and a love for the game with our future Grizzlies!

Ms. Powell and Ms. Rentschler hosted Second Annual Beyond the Book Night tonight and it was a smash hit. Kudos to our 7th graders for such great displays and hard work.

Leadership students completed a variety of community service this semester! They ran a school wide food drive, read in elementary schools, volunteered at local animal shelters, worked a charity bass tournament, and helped out at a local ranch & stables. We're proud of these students for their commitment to service & community!
