Cultural Connections Night was a wonderful celebration of the cultures represented at Ruth Barker Middle School. Our students proudly represent 23 countries and speak between 22–25 languages, making our school a truly vibrant and diverse community!

In the IB Middle Years Programme, students learn as inquirers—exploring their own questions, building understanding, and making meaningful connections to the world around them.
We are proud to be part of the International Baccalaureate continuum within Bentonville Public Schools, supporting curious, thoughtful learners every step of the way.

Spring clubs are officially underway! Middle school is a pivotal time, and creating connections around shared interests makes all the difference.

Service as Action is a core component of the IB Middle Years Programme. This semester, we launched the 6th grade passion projects, which give students the opportunity to explore topics they care about, identify related needs within our community, and design meaningful ways to take action.

The RBMS stage was full of light, joy, and beautiful music last week as the choir performed for their parents and the student body. We are grateful for Mrs. Trevino’s vision and the heart she pours into our choir.

Our students have been putting their learning into action.
6th graders studied energy transfer and applied it by designing and building solar ovens. 5th graders are studying particles of matter and used that understanding to design, build, and test water filters.
It’s great to see the engineering and design process happening in real time across our classrooms.

A big shout-out to Mr. Cowart and Mrs. Reynolds for pouring their talents, passion, and endless encouragement into our students. Their dedication truly shows in every performance, and we are so grateful! 💙🎵

Barker Spirit Days!

Club Day = the best way to start the morning! 🎉 We love seeing students connect with friends who share their passions and interests. What a great way to build community and kick off the day together!

Bruin Blast was a blast! 🎉 We celebrated students who have gone above and beyond in exhibiting IB learner profile traits. We also recognized our awesome flag bearers for simply being amazing in their day to day interactions.

We kicked off football season and celebrated club sign-ups in true Bruin style—plus some special guests stopped by… the Arkansas Razorback Cheerleaders!
