Next week is Kindness Week! Let's celebrate being kind with these dress-up days.

Today we want to acknowledge the caring, dedicated, hard-working school counselors at Sugar Creek. Mrs. McGinnis and Mrs. Sneed encourage our students to do hard things every day. Happy National School Counselors Week!

Join us tonight in the cafeteria as Dr. Summerford presents information about the arts integration program at Sugar Creek for next school year. She will share important dates, specific lesson plans, and information about the new positions we will add. We hope you can join us!

We are proud to announce Sugar Creek's January Student of the Month, Finley! She is a kindergartener in Mrs. Phillips' class. Finley was chosen because she is always a hard worker, and goes out of her way to be helpful in the classroom. She offers to help both her teacher and her classmates. She is especially good at explaining challenging things to her friends in a kid-friendly way they can understand.
Congratulations Finley!

It's Two Turtle Doves Day at The Creek. 🕊🕊
Look at all these twinning friends.

🐝 Congratulations to our 4th-grade spelling bee champion, Leo! 🥇
All of our 4th-grade spellers did an amazing job today. Shout out to Hank and Ezra for placing second and third, respectively. Great job guys!

These students, Emmett and Kimiko, earned Principal of the Day for their valued contributions to our PTO's Read-A-Thon. Thank you to their friends and families who helped them achieve their goals. The staff and parents at Sugar Creek thank you for your support.

Congratulations to Jack from Mrs. Carvell's Kindergarten class on being chosen as our Student of the Month for December.
Here are just a few of the things that were said of Jack: His character shines in how he treats others with kindness and respect, always willing to help others. He shows great enthusiasm for learning and is committed to doing his best. His behavior in the classroom, playground, and during school activities is always excellent.
Way to go Jack! ⭐

❄Temperatures are dropping. ❄ Let's make sure our students are prepared for the colder mornings. 🧣

Before Thanksgiving, Mrs. Yordy, Mrs. Fielding, and Mrs. Misenhimer took their classes on a field trip to Park Springs Park. Look at those smiles!

Thank you Mr. Wolfe for coming to The Creek today to teach our 4th graders about waves. We love hands-on learning!

Mrs. Looney's 1st-grade class is gathering data for science. 🔬 They documented the sun's position throughout the day. 🌞 Then, they looked for patterns to help them make predictions before their next observation. 🔭

This month in the library, 3rd and 4th graders had a S.T.E.M. challenge to build a bridge that could withstand the weight of 21 toy elephants. 🐘
Each group had a different mixture of materials they could use. They had to use creative thinking and collaboration. Here are some of the successful bridges.

🎉Congratulations to our October student of the month, Rory from Mrs. Smith's class, and our November student of the month, Ruby from Mrs. Jordan's class. These students displayed amazing effort, exemplary behavior, and respect for all at Sugar Creek and we are so proud of them. 🥇

Mrs. Carvell's kindergarten class got to be architects today. They used two and three-dimensional shapes to build homes for their stuffies.

🏛️What a fantastic end to 2nd grade's Ancient Greece unit. These young historians brought the stories they learned about to life in their dioramas. Then, they had their own "Olympic Games" where students competed in events just like they did in Ancient Greece! 🏅
