Last week, Sugar Creek Stars of all ages participated in a Book Tasting event in the library. They sampled many genres of books and recorded some of their favorites.

Mr. Timbrel, our new Arts Integration Specialist, has been working with classrooms introducing the Actor's Toolbox. This is a set of skills actors use to bring characters to life—like using their voice, body, imagination, and emotions. It builds confidence, focus, and teamwork on stage and beyond! 🎭✨

Today we want to acknowledge the caring, dedicated, hard-working school counselors at Sugar Creek. Mrs. McGinnis and Mrs. Sneed encourage our students to do hard things every day. Happy National School Counselors Week!

Join us tonight in the cafeteria as Dr. Summerford presents information about the arts integration program at Sugar Creek for next school year. She will share important dates, specific lesson plans, and information about the new positions we will add. We hope you can join us!

We are proud to announce Sugar Creek's January Student of the Month, Finley! She is a kindergartener in Mrs. Phillips' class. Finley was chosen because she is always a hard worker, and goes out of her way to be helpful in the classroom. She offers to help both her teacher and her classmates. She is especially good at explaining challenging things to her friends in a kid-friendly way they can understand. Congratulations Finley!

🐝 Congratulations to our 4th-grade spelling bee champion, Leo! 🥇 All of our 4th-grade spellers did an amazing job today. Shout out to Hank and Ezra for placing second and third, respectively. Great job guys!

These students, Emmett and Kimiko, earned Principal of the Day for their valued contributions to our PTO's Read-A-Thon. Thank you to their friends and families who helped them achieve their goals. The staff and parents at Sugar Creek thank you for your support.

Congratulations to Jack from Mrs. Carvell's Kindergarten class on being chosen as our Student of the Month for December. Here are just a few of the things that were said of Jack: His character shines in how he treats others with kindness and respect, always willing to help others. He shows great enthusiasm for learning and is committed to doing his best. His behavior in the classroom, playground, and during school activities is always excellent. Way to go Jack! ⭐
