Mrs. Jordan’s 3rd graders are making BIG connections—one gallon at a time! 🧠🎨
Through their creative “Gallon Men and Women,” students explored math concepts like capacity and measurement while bringing their learning to life with art. ✨

🚲 Get Ready! Bike to School Week is coming! 🚲

Our 3rd grade students recently had an incredible opportunity to visit the Common Threads: America 250 exhibit at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art!
During their visit, students not only explored the exhibit but also engaged directly with talented quilters who are bringing student-designed quilt squares to life as part of a collaborative art installation. It was inspiring to see creativity, history, and community come together in such a meaningful way.
Experiences like this help our students see how their ideas can become part of something bigger—and leave a lasting impact through art.

🤖 Our kindergarten students put their creativity and math skills to work in a fun and innovative way! Using recycled materials, they designed and built their own robots—each one as unique as its creator. 🤖
What made this project even more exciting was how students incorporated ten frames and creative decorations to represent numbers up to 20. By combining hands-on building with math concepts, they were able to deepen their understanding while expressing their imagination.
Learning truly came to life as students connected creativity, problem-solving, and early numeracy in one engaging experience!

🥚 Can you “Crack the Code?” 🥚
Kindergarten students are learning to blend sounds to read words. They had the amazingly fun task of writing words using colors to represent sounds. Use the key and read some of these words yourself.

This week we’re celebrating Assistant Principal Week, and we couldn’t let it pass without giving a shoutout to the one and only Mr. Antuna! 👏 His calming presence and positive attitude help create a safe and supportive environment for all.
When he’s not keeping things running smoothly, you might catch him perfecting his golf swing (watch out, PGA 👀) or sharing his latest thoughts on the Dodgers—win or lose, the commentary is always strong!
Thank you, Mr. Antuna, for your patience, your humor, and your unwavering support for our students and staff. We appreciate you more than you know! ⚾⛳💙

📚 Happy National School Librarian's Day! 📚
Today we celebrate the amazing Candice Edwards and Missi Pittman—our incredible librarian and library assistant! 🎉
Fun fact: National School Librarian's Day fell on Saturday this year, so naturally we gave them the day off. 😄 But seriously, thank you both for making our library a magical place where students discover, learn, and grow every single day!
You are treasured members of the Sugar Creek Arts Academy family! 💙📖 #SchoolLibrarianDay #ThankYou #SugarCreekProud

⭐Congratulations to April's Student of the Month, Cohen from Mrs. Looney's class! ⭐
Here are just a few of the reasons he was chosen: He treats others with kindness, respect, and responsibility. He demonstrates outstanding effort in all that he does, always giving his best and showing determination to improve. One of his most notable qualities is his willingness to help others. He genuinely enjoys being a helper, whether it’s assisting classmates or supporting classroom routines.
Way to go Cohen. 🏆 We are so proud of you!

From seed to table 🌱🥗
All year long, Mrs. Blades' 4th graders observed plant structures, monitored growth, and cared for their lettuce in an innovative growing system. Now for the best part—they harvested and enjoyed the lettuce they grew themselves!
Through this hands-on experience, students explored the full plant life cycle and saw the real-world rewards of their hard work, patience, and observation. What better way to celebrate science than by tasting fresh, homegrown produce?
