Teaching artists from Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art stopped by SCAA to announce a special exhibition opening in 2026 for the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence!
Our students will design quilt squares that will be sewn into a larger installation celebrating the Semiquincentennial (ask Mr. Timbrel for a pronunciation tip!). Led by St. Louis artist Basil Kincaid, this community-driven project includes quilt squares from students across the state — and you’ll see work by our very own Sugar Creek Arts Academy students.
The installation will explore independence, civic identity, and our shared history. Stay tuned for dates and program details — we can’t wait to celebrate with you! 🎨🧵✨

Today was the kickoff for our All Bentonville Reads, a month-long community event that ends with a celebration at Crystal Bridges on March 1st, from 12-4 pm.
Every student got a book today and a bookmark with the reading schedule. They will have tons of opportunities to earn prizes for reading.

Students in Mrs. Looney's Kindergarten class created castles inspired by the artist, Paul Klee. They used two-dimensional geometric shapes to make a composite shape in the form of a castle.
