EAST students LOVE working with the Little Rock Zoo, and we're happy to announce that ten EAST programs have been selected to work on sixteen projects this school year as a part of our Project Zoo initiative!

Bridget Davis, Milo Flake, and Amy Madewell participated in the Veterans Day Writing Challenge last week! Their submissions were phenomenal and all three won the challenge! Great job, Wildcats!

We are pleased to tell you that there will be an hour of coding schoolwide on Monday, December 4 during Advisory. Our CTE team is preparing introductory and advanced coding opportunities for kids. This is a great opportunity for our students to learn a new skill or develop an existing one that may lead to a future course or a career pathway. Please check out Google Classroom on that date to see the coding slides. Go CodingCats!

Congratulations to FCCLA members: (1) Mazzy Warden and Lydia Boles for winning a Bronze medal and to (2) Khloe Salle for winning a Silver medal. They competed at the District level in Ft. Smith on Tuesday. They have now qualified for state competition in Hot Springs in April.

Mrs. Bolding and our EAST kids are back in action! Grace Roberts and Annalise Fuhriman attended Mobile App Development workshop with EAST. What a fun day of learning and exploring.

Thank you to our Veterans for your courageous service and for attending our breakfast event this morning. Our students were very proud to show you off to their peers and teachers. ❤️🤍💙

Congrats to Piper Dunn and Karli Brazile for being our recent students of the month and to Mrs. Bolding and Mrs. Kirby for being our recent teachers of the month! We appreciate you representing our Wildcat traits so well each and every day!

Congrats to all who tried out, including these students who made the Junior High All Region Jazz Band. WJHS is many things, including a top notch performing arts school!

One more big congratulations to Mrs. Matteri, the Junior High Choir Director of the Year for our region!

The WJHS gardeners displayed their gardening skills
by planting 60 multicolored pansies in the school’s front raised beds. In the back Learning Garden, they planted 4 Arkansas native plants which were a
gift to our gardening program from the Arkansas Master Naturalist program. Mrs. Brown and Mrs. Sutterfield supervised the activity along with 3 volunteers from the Bentonville Garden Club.

Tomorrow, our leaders in NJHS kick off a food drive that will benefit Bright Futures to help students in our community. We hope you will consider donating. The drive goes through November 17 and items can be dropped off before school in the cross hall. Thanks, Wildcats!

Students in Design and Modeling are working to create their drafts of a theme park and will soon create 3D models. Parks will require certain elements and we hope to show you final products in coming weeks.

Students of Washington Jr. High are planning an hour of food and fellowship to honor U.S. military servicemen and women for their commitment to the country. At the conclusion of the breakfast, attending veterans will be “clapped out” of the building. The clap-out is a long-standing tradition at Washington Jr. High reserved for those held in the highest honor.
We invite all veterans (who are family members and friends of WJHS students) to enjoy breakfast with us!

Conferences begin tomorrow! We ask that you limit your conference time when there are others waiting. If your child won’t attend with you, please bring a copy of their schedule so you know which rooms to visit. See you soon, Wildcat Families!

Our Wildcats had a great day, scoring 2nd in pom and kick and 3rd in jazz! We are proud of you!

Thank you to the BHS French Program for coming to speak our kids about French options in high school. We loved it! Students- check out the second pic and make your submission to be entered to win a gift card and be featured on their social media!

Red Ribbon Week starts on Monday! Please join us in staying drug free and engaging in this great week!

WJHS EAST Students Chris Carson, Dandin Hald, Madi Sims, and Jane Byrne were recently selected (out of a hundred applicants) to build a project for the Little Rock Zoo through EAST and Project Zoo. The Little Rock Zoo partners with EAST students interested in utilizing their classroom’s resources, time, and talent to help solve challenges at the Zoo. The students will receive guidance and advice from Zoo staff throughout the duration of the partnership. The targeted outcome is to develop unique and engaging student projects resulting in products used within Zoo functions. Prototypes are coming soon!

Come Choose Love with us on November 9, 5-7 PM in the Bentonville Square!

Friday was a huge day of on-the-job learning for 11 of our gardeners! They planted seeds for rainbow beets, large carrots, mini carrots, spinach, and potatoes. Thanks to Mrs. Brown, Mrs. Sutterfield, and the volunteers from the Bentonville Garden Club for leading students!
