No rivalry here when it comes to taking care of each other! At last night's Bentonville West versus Bentonville basketball game, students from both high schools brought every new stocking you can imagine for a mid-game sock throw! Socks are one of the most requested items for families in need, and it was awesome to help kids get off on the right foot! Let's keep the kindness going!
Big thank you to Scott Miller with Just for Kicks Photo for the great pics! #whereexcellencelives

Is there anything better than a glowing client testimonial? Casey Cawein received a beautiful endorsement from a Fulbright Junior High School student named Bella Browning. Bella is an eighth grader who nominated her leadership class teacher for being a wonderful human. “Mrs. Cawein always makes sure her students are okay. She has a heart for others, such a big heart,” Bella told us in her nomination.
Casey is the family and consumer science teacher at Fulbright but also teaches a leadership course where Bella encountered her. “The assignments in her class have helped me grow as a person. I just appreciate her so much,” Bella added.
For the past 11 years, Casey has called Bentonville Schools home, and by sharing her talents as a teacher, she has created a home for the thousands of students who walk the halls of Fulbright.

It's a special thing when you can celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day with a student who is working to advance Dr. King's dream. Greta Gubler, a sixth grader at Bright Field Middle, recently won the 2023-2024 Walmart Supply Chain MLK Essay Project. In her essay, Greta wrote, "Learning about differences actually gives us a better understanding that we're not so different after all. Even though we look different doesn't mean we can't be friends." Well done, Greta! We're proud of your words and wisdom! #whereexcellencelives

Elementary schools in our district all have what’s called activity teams. At Vaughn Elementary School, the team consists of teachers Shanna Amos, Carol Halbmaier, Jane Hundley, Leslie Mackey, Jennifer Rivera, Beau Smith and Kenneth Timbrel. They were nominated for the Extra Mile Award by their principal, Kendra Schacht. In her nomination, she wrote this team is the first to volunteer for any event, celebration or task.
The team recently hosted a party for a classroom without a parent volunteer. They schedule time to mentor students, and if they aren’t assigned a duty in the mornings, they welcome students as they enter the building. In all they do, they seek out ways to contribute.
Please join us in congratulating Kenny, Carol, Leslie, Beau, Shanna, Jane and Jenni! #whereexcellencelives

Christmas came early for the Bentonville Pride! Recently, the Sudler Shield Award Committee convened and unanimously voted to honor the Bentonville Pride Marching Band as the 2023 Sudler Shield Award Winner. This achievement marks the first time an Arkansas band has received this prestigious accolade. In its 37-year history, the Sudler Shield has been awarded to only 112 bands globally, representing 19 states and seven countries. Congratulations, BHS Pride! #whereexcellencelives
