First graders are wrapping up their unit on Early World Civilizations. The students wrote their names using hieroglyphics. They crumpled up brown paper so they could write on "papyrus". Then they learned about Pharaohs and made headdresses!

Our first gator gatherings of the year were so much fun! Thank you to Mrs. Wrona's class for teaching us all about plants today. I mean could these kindergators be any cuter?! Also, a big shoutout to Mrs. McGinnis for creating an art display to showcase some amazing artists. We can't wait to celebrate again next month!

These four ladies demonstrated one of our learner profiles in the first quarter by being knowledge seekers. They are always looking for ways to grow and learn so they participated in the Bentonville Schools Leaders Network. Mrs. Smith worked with a team to develop the program for K-12 teachers across the district. Counselor Amanda Williams, second grade teacher Robin Benson, and PE teacher Ashlee Lunsford joined the network to grow their skills as school leaders. They learned new strategies to implement in their professional learning communities, and had the wonderful opportunity to connect with and learn from educators from other schools. Way to go, ladies!

In PE every grade is working on strengthening their fine motor skills and their hand-eye coordination. Students were challenged with picking up cotton balls with clothespins or picking up marbles with a spoon. Students also enjoyed playing Speedway and Pursuit which worked on different types of pacing (fast, medium, and slow) and relays.
