Congratulations to Hridhaan Patel for winning our school Spelling Bee! Chesia Sooraj was our runner-up! We are so proud of all of our participants. Hridhaan will go on to represent Central Park Elementary at the Benton County Spelling Bee in January. Good luck, Hridhaan!

The library had some special guests today! Trike Theatre performed “Dog’s Job” for the first graders. What a treat!
It's National School Psychology Week! Please join us in celebrating our very own Cari Calhoun! Cari uses her expertise to create meaningful change in the lives of students and their families. Her genuine care and concern for every student makes her an invaluable member of our team. Central Park is lucky to have the best School Psych around!
Author Clayton Scott worked with Central Park 4th graders on elements of poetry throughout the week. Students wrote several different types of poetry while focusing on figurative language, visualization and presentation. They finished the week with a Poetry Slam! Clayton Scott's work at CPE was made possible through a grant from the Arkansas Heritage Arts Council Mini grant, the CPE PTO and the CPE library.
Our Fall costume parade was so much fun! We love making special memories with our school family. Have a great, restful weekend gators!
Ms. Hagel's scientists made ice cream! Through the science experiment they were able to construct an argument with evidence to conclude that some changes caused by heating or cooling can be reversed and some cannot.

Let's hear it for our most recent Gator award winners! These students were recognized for demonstrating our learner profiles. Students were selected by their classroom teachers and the activity team. Way to go! Keep working hard and reaching those goals.
Bentonville Bike to School Week is next week!
Second graders were wrapping up their study of Ancient Chinese Civilizations last week. They were excited to invite Jeff Cheng to help them learn more about Chinese writing. Students learned about the progression over time for the characters of sun, moon, mountain and water and were able to practice writing these symbols.
First graders are now experts on the human body after finishing their unit of study last week!
Kindergarteners in Mrs. Reinert’s class worked together and became investiGATORs this week in science as they compared the effects of different strengths of pushes on the motion of cars at different angles on a ramp!
Mrs. Fikes' kindergators learned about force in motion this week!
